Bryan and Simon Steel

The creators of the slice of life comic strip, AJ & Magnus:

"AJ & Magnus is intended to show any family with love is a good family.

Our characters and strips are based on our own family and friends,

for better or worse :).

At the end of the day we just want people to smile and see the world is made up of so many people who all want the same things deep down inside, no matter what their outside may look like."

AJ & Magnus is written by Bryan Steel and illustrated by Simon Steel

Poet Rae Monet

PoetRaeMonet, author of ‘The Birds, the Bees, and the Boudoir,’ dynamically delivers steamy erotic poetry to combat an outrageous lack of sexual education in America. Her poetry is straight-to-the-point, but reminds readers and listeners alike of the serious need for sexual education. As a victim of sexual assault and a self-proclaimed “sexual activist,” it was important to Rae to release a product that held closely with her personal beliefs.

Since the first edition release of ‘The Birds, the Bees, and the Boudoir’ in April 2014, Rae has begun laying the groundwork for her own sexual education Non-Profit Organization, Suzie’s K.I.D.S. (Keeping Informed, Decisive, and Selective). She has plans to release many additional books; including two in the next year. The second edition of The Birds, the Bees, and the Boudoir was released April 30, 2015 and is available online now with Amazon and in an e-book format with Kindle.

Marika began watching anime before she knew what anime was.  Her first show was Gatchaman, followed by Robotech, Voltron and so many more.

With thirty years of anime, trips to Japan and countless conventions, Marika took things further.  She taught classes on anime history. When she was asked why she wanted to teach,  She replied "If I can change one person’s mind about what anime is, I’ve done my job”.

Marika has spoken at numerous conventions along the East Coast, including DragonCon, and Nekocon. She was successful in inviting Japan's consul general, Hiroshi Yamagushi to play violin at a convention.

Marika was also a columnist for a Japanese magazine, she wrote a column about happenings the anime world.

Marika has fallen for the new Voltron. She's thrilled to be able to share her wealth of (sometimes useless) information and knowledge with Nijicon's attendees.
